We've purchased tires and oil changes/minor repairs for our vehicles for years from Levin. My wife took her jeep in for an oil change about a year ago. We always take our own oil, because Levin does not stock or offer it. At that time my wife was questioned about the kind of oil, where purchased, why we chose to not use their oil and so on. Since then she has refused to take her jeep in. But I still used them. Today my wife had to take her jeep in for an oil change, and was quizzed and questioned. They have NEVER put me through this interrogation and don't appreciate them quizzing her. Why don't you use our oil, where did you buy your oil, why didn't you get a filter with your oil and so on. Well, as I said I've never been put through their line of questions, but today you and your methods with female customers comes to an end for us. No more tires, no more oil changes, no more minor repairs. Too many shops out there know how to value customers, even female ones !!
Business reply to this review:
Hello Scott, Thank you for sharing your wife's experience in our store with me on the phone and like I said, I think it is okay to ask some questions about why a customer may be using their own oil, but it looks like this person asked too many. I will review your comments and customer history with our General Manager so he can have a conversation and coaching with the service advisor involved. Thank you again and have a great day.
Worst place ever. Doesn’t even say hello when walking in. Apparently I was given the wrong oil at another location. I said “Can’t you just still use it then?” He went and checked my car to see what oil for sure. Comes back and is on phone. Then proceeeds to say it only takes full synthetic. I didn’t say anything he kept going on . I didn’t get the chance to say ok then do it. He says we can either do it or drops my key I front of me. So of course I had no option but to leave with that customer service. Let’s not forget him standing there coughing like he has a lung disease and not covering his mouth.
Hello Suzann, the service advisor was up front and honest with you about what kind of oil the vehicle takes. The employee from Hobart no longer works for this company that you were previously dealing with and we are not sure why semi-synthetic oil was used instead of full synthetic. If you go to any other oil shops they will let you know that the service is correct that your vehicle requires 0W20 full synthetic, especially if you are 6,000 to 8,000 miles between oil changes. Lastly, the service advisor does in fact have lung disease and is being treated for his health issues so we are sorry that you needed to attack him personally like that. We would appreciate if you did not return to our business in the future.
Just giving a heads up. Took vehicle for rear end noise coming from strut. Levin quoted me $1400 for new strut set ups for both sides. This was total cost of parts and labor. After reviewing cost of parts on phone and trying to make sense of labor costs, I decided to take my car to another shop. (Pricing didn’t add up) Long story short I had my car fixed by another auto shop all in for $196…. $1,400 vs $196????? The strut was fine but I had a cracked mount the strut was attached too…Regardless, I try to make sense of why we are trying to replace parts not broken? To jack up price? Take advantage of those less educated ? We come to you because we rely on your ability to professionals … This review of this establishment isn’t worth any more of my time, but it’s being noted for anyone who goes there, you’re rolling the dice with your car and wallet. Shout out to Dave’s auto shop in crown point for helping me diagnose and cost effectively repair my car in a very suitable time.
Hello Mr. Ditzler, You are correct you had cracked mounts. Those cracked mounts were causing your shocks to rub against your inner fender well. We could have easily just replaced those and ignored the damage done to the shocks, but we are a facility that repairs vehicles and makes them safe to drive, not to just fix one small problem and ignore the others that were caused because of it. Even you had stated that your vehicle was unsafe to drive because it was essentially on the ground. We stand by our diagnosis and what you need, but is your right to drive around on those damaged parts and visit other shops who will perform the minimum amount of work to just make a sale. Best of luck in the future with your auto repair needs.
I had a leak in the power steering hose, we brought my vehicle to Levin and they replaced the power steering pump AND the serpentine belt. When we picked it up, there was a whole new sound coming from the engine. The following week we brought it back. They looked at it and said the noise was from the leak in the power steering hose, they replaced it. Picked it up and still making the same "new" noise. We were told that the sound was the new power steering pump and it had to "break in" and the noise would go away. Two separate opinions later and we're being told a tension pulley needs to be adjusted. When the replaced the serpentine belt, they knocked something out of alignment. We brought it up there for a third time and was told yet again, the pump was bad (LIE) and they replaced it (ANOTHER LIE), and the noise IS STILL THERE. I will no longer bring my vehicle to Levin for anything other than tires, and that's questionable. They lie and do questionable mechanical work. Now we have to go elsewhere to get the pulleys adjusted because Levin doesn't want to fix the problem. NEVER BRING YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS PLACE!
Hello Kathy, I apologize that you are having issues and I want to to get this issue resolved. Can you please send over any paperwork that you received from your other opinions so I can pass that information along to our General Manager? If we did something wrong, we want to make it right. Please email them to [email protected] and I will get on it right away. Thank you.
My wife brought her car in to get 2 new tires and an alignment. She left paying for a lug nut stud and lug nut after the shop told me they had to break it off for some outstanding reason. I have yet to hear the truth on why ( have received 3 different stories as to why). They also don't want to admit that they cross threaded another lug nut stud even after brought the car back and walked into their shop and showed them myself. On top of all that, one of the tires that was just replaced was 15 psi low on air inside of a week of putting it on the car because of improper mounting of the tire. Bottom line, if you don't know about vehicle maintenance they will try and take advantage of you. Quinn especially was trying to tell me the facts of the original trip to that shop even though he admitted to me upon returning today, that he didn't recall the car or the work that was done to it.
Hello Mr. Leonhardt, we take all customer feedback seriously and investigated your claims through surveillance and interviews with staff. We confirmed that your wife's Highlander could not have 1 lug nut removed on June 23rd with an impact. Your wife was notified and she authorized the removal of the stud. On your trip to our store on July 2nd, surveillance video also showed that you were taken back in the shop and shown all lug nuts were removed and retorqued without issue. There was no cross threading, otherwise that would've been addressed on the camera footage. Quinn admitted he did not remember immediately because you caught him off guard by yelling immediately when you got in the store, but upon a conversation with the original technician, the facts came to light. Please also remember that you were not the original person who brought the car in and he was not familiar with you. The tire you are mentioning was soaked to see if they could locate a leak, but none were found. We do not have an explanation for that, but we aired up your tire and didn't locate any issues before leaving the shop.
